Auckland rail patronage has increased by 22 per cent.
Auckland Transport say that they have invested in a regional transport infrastructure that benefits all of Auckland; “We started work on the Albany Highway North and Te Atatū Road upgrades and continued work on the East West Connection, improving transport east from Tāmaki to Onehunga.”
This is all good news for a city that is getting increasingly car-dependant. More people using public transport is going to make a difference, and this should increase as the current public transport services are upgraded.
